Eny Ming was born in Bali in 1979. She graduated from Lasalle Internatinal Design School in Singapore.
Eny Ming’s label “MING” (launched in 2003) has taken Avant Garde to the next level, making it more commercial and termed it as “Ready-to-wear Avant Garde”. Fashion-conscious people who likes to stand out and provoke a certain statement about her style will find her collection extremely interesting. Her designs are certainly edgy and has sharp lines. Although she constantly re-develop her fabrics and detail elements according to her mood and inspiration, she never fails to exhibit an awe-inspiring collection.
In 2007 she won the Indonesian Young Designer Contest (LPM). For JFW 2010/11, her collection will be entitled Two Sides, inspired from the elements of a bamboo. Her trademark is her brilliant placing of seams and lines creating pleasant contours of the body, just the right amount of seams to compliment the combination of fabrics and break-lines.
Subtle elements such as pleats, flanges, tuck pleats, elastic gathers and cord-piped details are added as the "point-of-interest". Most of her garments are suitable to be a "wardrobe essential" meaning that it can be used to mix and match with what is in our closet in order to create new looks for different occasions.
