Origami fashion part 2







I'm still obsessed with origami fashion. I like the way fabric is transformed in a rigid material like paper(some of the dresses above are made of paper). I like the geometric repetition, the bold effect it makes. They're more like scuptures than dresses. I don't know if they exalt a woman's figure because the dress draws all the attention but i find them inspiring.

Paco Rabanne metalwork

This post is about the history of fashion. Above you can see some Paco Rabanne creations where the repetion of a single element constructs the dresses. I was especially hit by all this metalwork. The shiny gold outfit looks like an armor and the hand, cuff and head decoration are a true statement. The other metal outfit is meticoulosly made by triangles and the sleeves are beautiful decorated, it's like a hedgehog dress. I find them very inspiring and very modern

Origami fashion

I'm started becoming more and more interested in origami fashion.
I like this paper appereance of fabric, the structured pieces and the geometrical repetition. I like the work that has to be done to make the fabric look like this because fabric is not as stiff as paper. These designs continue to fashinate me.
It's a challenge to make something wearable that is not made of paper.
