Breakfast at Tiffany's, however cliche', is one of my favorite movies. The movie brings to the forefront "The Little Black Dress," which can be said to be created by CoCo Chanel herself some decades before, but can anyone really remember the "LBD" before Audrey Hepburn and her famous dress by Hubert de Givenchy. One of the things that you can pull away from the movie is that Miss Golightly had a small budget and basically wore the same two dresses throughout the movie, but looked so very chic throughout the movie.
I love buying staple pieces for my wardrobe and I find it important to invest in these few pieces. A simple black dress can be worn many times and can be accessorized to give it a different feel every time. These dresses were simply accessorized, but assisted in the dress looking "oh so chic." A few accessories that work for a 'LBD' according to great stylist Rachel Zoe include:
- Red pumps
- Chunky Bracelets
- Over the top earrings
- Animal Print Clutch
- Fishnet tights
- Red Lipstick
- Tuxedo Jacket
You LBD can also be sexy without showing all of your goods(thats what we say in the country..LOL). It isn't always necessery to show all your assets to be seen as beautiful. Throughout the movie Hepburn is covered up and looks absolutely lovely. Even though, in the movie she was broke, she looked like she had a million dollars in the bank. Her clothes gave her class, elegance, and beauty all in one shot.
Readers I would like to know where is your Little Black Dress from and how to do accessorize it?
