Breakfast at Tiffany's aka The Little Black Dress

Breakfast at Tiffany's, however cliche', is one of my favorite movies.  The movie brings to the forefront "The Little Black Dress," which can be said to be created by CoCo Chanel herself some decades before, but can anyone really remember the "LBD" before Audrey Hepburn and her famous dress by Hubert de Givenchy.  One of the things that you can pull away from the movie is that Miss Golightly had a small budget and basically wore the same two dresses throughout the movie, but  looked so very chic throughout the movie.

I love buying staple pieces for my wardrobe and I find it important to invest in these few pieces.  A simple black dress can be worn many times and can be accessorized to give it a different feel every time.  These dresses were simply accessorized, but assisted in the dress looking "oh so chic."   A few accessories that work for a 'LBD' according to great stylist Rachel Zoe include:

- Red pumps
- Chunky Bracelets
- Over the top earrings
- Animal Print Clutch
- Fishnet tights
- Red Lipstick
- Tuxedo Jacket

You LBD can also be sexy without showing all of your goods(thats what we say in the country..LOL).  It isn't always necessery to show all your assets to be seen as beautiful.  Throughout the movie Hepburn is covered up and looks absolutely lovely.  Even though, in the movie she was broke, she looked like she had a million dollars in the bank.  Her clothes gave her class, elegance, and beauty all in one shot.

Readers I would like to know where is your Little Black Dress from and how to do accessorize it?

Swimsuit Season is upon us - MonifC's new swimsuit line

As a lover of the summer season and swimsuits.  I love the hunt of trying to find the perfect swimsuits for my body for the upcoming summer.   With seeing MonifC's new swimsuit collection I couldnt resist commenting on the new line.  Last summer MonifC preview her first ever line of swimsuits and although very sexy they seemed a little hard for the average curvy girl to wear with deep plunging necklines.  This year she altered an her last year's design by decreasing the neckline and I personally think it will make the swimsuits easier to wear for our bustier curvy girls.  I actually ordered a swimsuit last summer season for a luau, but it didnt come in on time, so I had to cancel my order and find a new suit.  Every summer I order 3  swimsuits so this year I think Im going to order a suit from MonifC.  I personally like the One shoulder ruffle swimsuit.  The overal swimsuit line has some good and not so good pieces.  I am personally not a fan of the fringe suit.  That fringe can potentially be very unflattering for the curvy girl.  I dont know I would have to see a non model in the suit to decide.

Question: Did anyone get a MonifC swimsuit last year, as stated above I wasn't able to buy one.  I would like to know how it worked out for you.

Elie Saab Couture - Spring 2010

I love many different designers for many different reason. With Galliano, for example, I love the high impact drama and colour of his creations and shows. I love Elie Saab the same way I love Marchesa - beautiful gowns.

He doesn't try to challenge 'fashion' and come up with crazy, unwearable garments for the sake of being 'out there'. Everyone seems to be so obsessed with new, new, new lately that they forget the importance of good quality dress making and clothes that last yet still make a strong impact.
Saab is another designer to beautifully interpret the Spring trend of pastels into Haute Couture, with floaty chiffons, delicate beading and floral detailling. I am also in love with the natural beauty of the hair and make-up. I think this may be a style I'll be trying out for myself come summer time.
