Prom Hair Inspiration

I've never really considered this too much before, as I ended up not going to my school prom. It was cancelled, then on again, then cancelled, then on again... You get the jist. My sister's school prom is coming up in July, and she's been in a bit of a pickle with how to wear her hair. She doesnt want it all up, but is wearing a strapless dress so needs it down, but she also doesnt just want it down and curly as she wears it like that quite often.

Anyways, I thought I'd have a look around and see what's out there. I'm not sure when prom season actually is in America, but I guess this could be helpful for some Brit-prom goers. (I'm not sure where else in the world they have school proms?)

Half up/half down?

Don't cringe my dears - crimping is hot on the runways for S/S 09. Try crimping random sections, or an updo as seen at the Dior Couture show.

Simple, classic curls will always look glamorous.

Never underestimate the importance of accessories! If you're doing your hair yourself, and are wearing an understated outfit, take note from the Luella, Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton shows and liven up your look with some pretty hair accessories.

Of course these can be your inspiration for any formal event you're going to, not neccessarily prom. If youre doing your own hair, make sure you get some practice so you know you can get it right, saving hour-before-event stress. If youre getting it done at the hairdressers, maybe take a picture and discuss what you want before you book your appointment to make sure they can do that for you, and if you can afford it maybe even do a practice run with them.

I hope this has helped all you princesses! Go wow them all x
