Final Couture Post

Sorry this has been so delayed - my mum came down for a last-minute visit with my little brothers for the weekend.

Elie Saab's collection was completely winter wonderland white. The collection was so pretty I found it difficult to narrow it down to these images.

Valentino's clothing wasn't quite so elaborate (when you compare it to some of Galliano's dramatic gowns) but the lacy headpeices and detailing is just so beautiful

Armani Prive had some wonderful metallics in dark greys, blacks and midnight blue with lots of beading. I need one of the multi-strand beaded necklaces....

More Couture

I was a little hesistant with Chanel. The collection didn't really do a lot for me, especially with the way they put some of their outfits together. The tights were my main issue - they just ruined some of the looks completely. There were two dresses that stood out positively for me though so I shall share them.

Jean Paul Gaultier went glamorous and edgy. There was a mix of themes with twenties style sequins and fur, futuristic body-suits and gothic dresses. I love the two body suits here - Such a feminine shape.

To be continued - trying to break the posts up a little...

Beth Ditto for Evans

I just recently heard of the funky singer in London who happens to be plus size who also happens to have put out a plus size clothing line for Evans

(//www.evans.co.uk/)I must say some of the pieces are really cute, others aren't. But its like buying a CD the probability of liking every song on the CD is slim ~ It great when it happens, but as long as their are a few songs that you really really like everything is good. (Ok, so I love analogies) Anyway, the line just launched today, but as you know ladies I am a wardrobe stylist and it is my sworn duty to order and try out new clothes (Its the fun part of the job). Evans is based out of the UK but they do deliver to the U.S. Here are my pieces that I am going to try out some for my personal use and some for styling purposes. Stay tuned for my quality report on Beth Ditto's line.

All welcome Alexis

Alexis Mabille is still new on the Paris couture scene. His recent collection for Fall '09 isn't what I would usually go to couture for - I'm all about the drama - but the pretty colour pallete and floaty fabrics are still oh so dreamy. I'm having a major crush on pastel blue lately, which is probably working in his favour for me.

And here's some of my favourites from his previous couture shows.

Even the menswear is adorable - So Chuck Bass! I love the multiple bow shirt.

Couture is what dreams are made of...

Nothing can make my (dull) day more than admiring the new couture collections. Galliano has made me proud once again with his use of vivid colour and a bit of cheeky, vampy-ness.

Here are some of my favourites from the Dior show.

There's some really beautiful skirts in there, and the last two dresses are to die for. I truely hope that Galliano will make my wedding dress. Dream big...

A strange observation to make, but his use of the colour yellow is making me crave for some yellow peices, the pale tulle skirt in particular.

Note how 'Bras as tops' is also still going strong.

More to come on Fall '09 Couture!

Ps. Does anyone know who styles the Dior shows? Or is it allll Galliano?
